The RZ’s panoramic roof*** is made using smart glass. It reflects infrared radiation, reducing heat when the sun’s out, and can be transformed from transparent to opaque at the touch of a button, or with a simple voice command.

A large, 14-inch high-definition touchscreen clearly displays functions like the navigation, audio system and climate controls. The system is compatible with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, and can be controlled via voice commands.

Once you need more charge, you won’t be waiting around for long, thanks to ultra-fast DC-charging capability. This replenishes the battery at up to 150kW, and 80% range in around 25 minutes.** From a home wallbox, the RZ takes just over 10 hours to charge.

Neatly mounted under the RZ’s cabin is a 71.4kWh battery. Fully charged, it provides a range figure of up to 271 miles,* according to the WLTP cycle.

Key Features

The RZ is Lexus’ first dedicated EV. Thanks to a brave design which takes the company’s famed design language into the electric age, it’s anything but typical. The innovative cabin is inspired by the Japanese definition of ‘Tazuna’, relating to the small adjustments of the reins a rider uses to control a horse. This immersive principle is adopted within the RZ cabin where, due to the precise positioning of controls and displays, the driver has everything perfectly to hand - allowing you to enjoy the supreme refinement, luxury and performance that the Lexus RZ provides.

A whole host of technology aimed at keeping you and those around you safe is available on the Kodiaq. Highlights include Blind Spot Detect, Full LED Matrix headlights to better light the road ahead, and a Pedestrian Monitor, which can slow the car down if someone walks out in front of the vehicle.

Transmissions

All Kodiaq models come with a smooth-shifting dual-clutch automatic transmission as standard, called DSG or ‘Direct Shift Gearbox’. For those wanting superior traction, it’s possible to pair this transmission with a capable four-wheel drive system.

Skoda Connect

With Škoda Connect you can prepare for your journey using your smartphone before stepping out of the house. This includes sending route plans to your car’s navigation system, locking or unlocking the car and much more. Meanwhile, Proactive Services can arrange a service when due, and the car will call the emergency services in the event of an accident.

Boot space

Whatever your needs, the Kodiaq has plenty of luggage capacity. The five-seat version offers a huge 835-litre boot, expanding to 2,065 litres with the rear seats folded. The seven-seater offers 270 litres with all seats up, 765 with the rear row folded, and 2,005 with the middle row stowed also.

Engines

The Kodiaq is available with a smooth and punchy 148bhp 1.5-litre TSI four-cylinder petrol engine, plus a pair of 2.0-litre TSI units – one producing 187bhp and the other a muscular 242bhp in the sporty Kodiaq vRS. Buyers also have the choice of two four-cylinder TDI diesel engines, developing either 148bhp or 197bhp

The Lexus RZ utilises bespoke architecture, developed specifically for electric vehicles. With none of the packaging constraints associated with combustion-powered car platforms, it allows the RZ to have an airy-feeling, spacious cabin.

Along with all the modern safety features expected from a Lexus, including autonomous emergency braking, the RZ includes innovative systems such as Safe Exit Assist***. This sees the E-Latch electronic door handle working together with the Blind Spot Monitor, cancelling the door opening if approaching vehicles or cycles are detected.
